We are small (only 9 units) and friendly self-catering Ontario cottage resort, situated directly on the sandy shores of beautiful Lake Nipissing in Ontario's Near North tourist region. Torbay Cottage Resort is adjacent to trails for walking and biking, skiing and, of course, snowmobiling. Our convenient location, in a quiet residential area within the city of North Bay, is also within easy walking distance of many fine and casual dining establishments, shops and entertainment, yet is far from the sounds of the city. Shopping malls, galleries, arts and crafts, additional bike and walking trails and many special attractions are only a short drive.

To ensure our guests a relaxed and carefree vacation or short getaway, our modern, clean and well-equipped cottage and motel unit accommodations with full kitchens are equipped with features such as cable TV with VCR, microwaves, coffee makers, quality linen and towels, local telephone, and gas fireplaces in most units.

In the evenings, the resort's western exposure of Lake Nipissing offers stunning sunsets. Our Sunsets remain the most spectacular in the Near North. While excellent anytime of the year, the spring and fall seem to offer the most vibrant colours of all seasons. A beach fireplace is available to our guests for evening gatherings and marshmallow roasts.

Torbay Resort's beautiful sand beach is long and a great place for games, walks or just lying in the sun. Torbay guests have the use of 2 kayaks, a pedal boat, a 2-seater kayak and a canoe for their enjoyment. Fishing at Torbay is best in the spring and early summer when the pickerel (walleye) are in shallower water and close to shore. As spring turns into summer you can fish with success for bass at near-by 2nd Rocky Point, a spot you can walk, row or canoe to, or you can a rent an aluminum boat with 20HP outboard and head to several other local fishing hot spots.

Snowmobiling is certainly the most popular winter activity at Torbay Cottage Resort. Our lakefront cottages offer an ideal accommodation solution for couples or groups on a snowmobile getaway, due to our convenient location, right on the shore of Lake Nipissing, where trails to the north and south can be directly accessed right from the front door.
